Today is the deadline for 'The Night Poetry' contest open to teens in grades 7 to 12 and adults living in Wellington County. Hosted in partnership with The Rotary Club of Guelph (1920-2020).
The Guelph Public Library is excited to partner with The Rotary Club of Guelph (1920-2020) to offer students in grades 7 to 12 and adults living in Wellington County the chance to express their creativity this month with a new online poetry competition called, “The Night Sky.”
There is no entry fee for ‘The Night Sky’ Poetry Competition but all submissions must be received by email only to contests@guelphpl.ca by 9 p.m. on April 15, 2020. All poems must be your original writings, 150 words or less and typed, single spaced in a Word document - in any poetic style you wish. Please do not submit your stories via Google docs or PDF’s. Your submission must include the title of your poem, your name, phone number and grade (if applicable).
Winners will be announced on Friday May 1, 2020 and the poems will be displayed in the Main Library for the month of May. Prizes will be awarded in each of the following categories: Grades 7 to 9, Grades 10 to 12 and for Adults with $100 each for first prize and $50 for second place.
