Celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities! Drop by the Main Library to better understand disabilities and promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in Guelph.

The Guelph Public Library and Community Living Guelph Wellington are celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Main Library (100 Norfolk Street). This annual event reminds us of our responsibility to better understand disabilities and promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in our community.

About 2025 International Day Of Persons With Disabilities (IDPD) and Key Goals and Call to Action:

• Promoting the leadership of persons with disabilities in all areas of life.
• Ensuring the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society.   
• Increasing the participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes.   
• Raising awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities.
• Celebrating the achievements of persons with disabilities.   

The IDPD 2025 will be commemorated with a series of events around the world. The main event will be held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This event will bring together persons with disabilities, government representatives, and civil society organizations. It is an important opportunity to celebrate the contributions of persons with disabilities. It is also a time to reflect on the challenges that persons with disabilities face.
