Each month we will feature a local children's author or illustrator for a special storytime and craft. This month, author Julie Romanik will be reading their picture book, "Skelly Can't Keep His Feelings Inside".
Book description:
This is an emotion filled rhyming book about a kind fellow named, "Skelly".
Naturally, as a skeleton, Skelly is simply a bony guy and cannot keep his huge spectrum of feelings inside. He learns that blurting out those feelings wildly may not be the best way to share them. His feelings can sometimes be viewed as unpleasant and at times frightful for the others in town. He works on strategies to understand and self regulate those strong emotions. Skelly shows the townsfolk that it is much better to let those feelings out, rather than keep them in, but let them out in a calmer and less scary way.
Now after working on and learning about his feelings, Skelly calmly talks about them and chooses better ways to share them.
