Meet us for a tour of the Honey Bee Research Centre! For families. Please register each person attending. Each person attending must complete indemnification forms.

Meet us at the Honey Bee Research Centre for a tour! 

Tour Outline:

  • Front garden gathering where you will meet your tour guides. 
  • Short interactive presentation on honey bee biology.
  • Instructions on how to behave around stinging insects.
  • Outside demonstration in the bee yard on beekeeping safety
  • Beehive components are brought to participants in the apiary for an up-close view.

Release and Indemnification Form:
The Honey Bee Research Centre requires that each person touring the facility completes a release and indemnification form. The purpose of this document is to inform individuals who might be at risk around stinging insects. Please bring the completed form(s) on the tour date. Those with a known allergy to honey bee stings can participate in all parts of the tour except for the demonstration in the bee yard.

NOTE: To ensure everyone’s safety, tour participants should arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time and will need to leave the grounds after the tour is complete.

Children are welcome to attend; However, we ask that all participants be three years of age and older.

Health and Safety Protocols:

  • Do not attend this program if you currently have or recently had a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or are feeling unwell.
  • Keep your hands clean. Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the library and should be used upon entry to this program.
